A "Reflection Coefficient” S-Parameter, known as an S11, describes how energy is reflected back to a transmiting port. To make the measurement a signal is put into port 1 and measured at port 1. This is important when characterizing the performance of active components like amplifiers and debugging signal integrity issues.
